Felicitation Of Padma Shri Awardees
Hon’ble Governor Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai on 28.1.2022 at Raj Bhavan felicitated Padma Shri Awardees (i) His Holiness Sadguru Brahmeshanandacharya Swamiji, Shree Kshetra Tapobhoomi and (ii) Shri Brahmanand Shankhwalkar. Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Rajendra Arlekar was also present on the occasion.
Shri Brahmanand Shankhwalkar in his speech recalled his passion for football as a child and his rise to an international player. He thanked the entire football fraternity of India for their support and encouragement throughout his career.
His Holiness Sadguru Brahmeshanandacharya Swamiji described Hon’ble Governor Goa as “fatherly figure” who is taking care of the people of Goa as his children. He has praised Hon’ble Governor for acknowledging and honouring the achievers of Goa ever since he has assumed office. This has motivated and inspired the Goans to become achievers. He then thanked the Governor for honouring him at Raj Bhavan.
Shri Rajendra Arlekar, Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh in his speech described Raj Bhavan as “Lok Bhavan” and commended Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, Hon’ble Governor of Goa for transforming himself into a “People’s Governor”. He appreciated Hon’ble Governor for organizing such felicitation programmes.
Hon’ble Governor Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai in his speech lauded the remarkable work of Tapobhoomi in the field of spiritualism. Further he said “Spirituality is India’s greatest contribution to humanity”. He said the conferment of Padma Shri to His Holiness is a “gift to Goa’. He also praised Shri Brahmanand Shankhwalkar for his contribution to the field of sports.
