MESSAGE
On this festive occasion of Baisakhi on 14th April, 2022, I extend my heartiest greetings and warm wishes to the people of Goa, particularly the Sikh brethren.
Baisakhi is one of the most important festivals of the Sikhs which is celebrated with great fanfare and gaiety. It has profound religious significance, as it was on this day in 1699 that Guru Gobind Singh, the Tenth Sikh Guru, laid the foundation of Panth Khalsa. Closely connected to the harvesting season of rabi crop, it makes the beginning of new year. The celebration of such festivals besides being occasions of joy and exuberance have always played an important role in furthering the cause of national unity and social harmony.
This year let the festivities be observed with adherence to safety protocols and may be celebration of Baisakhi bring greater peace, prosperity and happiness to one and all.
