On 20/11/2021, the Hon’ble Governor inaugurated the Poly House of Orchids in the Raj Bhavan Estate. This Poly House contains two popular verities of Orchid known as Dendrobium and Mokara Hybrid. There are 1,300 Orchid plants in this Poly House.
2.Raj Bhavan cares for the forests and environment within its estate which is rich with flora and fauna. This year during Vanamahotsav Raj Bhavan has planted 500 fruit bearing saplings. Further to commemorate the 71st Birthday of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi, Raj Bhavan has planted 71 Ayur Jackfruit saplings. The Poly House of Orchids is a third initiative that will help Raj Bhavan to meet its in-house flower requirements and will also be an attraction for the tourists at the time of Raj Bhavan Darshan.
3.The Poly House at Raj Bhavan has been constructed in association with Directorate of Agriculture and the Goa Horticulture Corporation. The inauguration was held in the presence of the Shri. Pravin Zantye, Hon’ble Chairman, Goa State Horticulture Corporation Ltd., Shri R. Mihir Vardhan, Secretary to Governor, Shri Nevil Alfonso, Director of Agriculture and Shri Sandeep Faldessai, Managing Director, Goa State Horticulture Corporation Ltd.
