PRESS COMMUNIQUE

          The Constitution Day or Samvidhan Diwas was celebrated at Raj Bhavan on 26th November, 2021. Hon’ble Governor Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai led the celebrations. All officers of the Raj Bhavan and special invitees read the Preamble of the Constitution of India online with the Hon’ble President of India. This was followed by a programme in the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan and graced by the presence of the Hon’ble Governor and Vice Chancellor of the Goa University. The special invitees to this programme where two constitutional experts Adv. Arun Krishna and Dr.Rahul Tripathi, Head of Dept. of Political Science, Goa University.

2.       Hon’ble Governor in his address recalled the words of the Hon’ble Prime Minister who had said that the Constitution is the “holy book” for Governance. Hon’ble Governor said that the basic needs of the common man are very beautifully encapsulated in the Preamble of the Constitution. He urged the people to reaffirm their faith in the Constitution in letter and spirit. Adv. Arun Krishna gave a historical perspective of the Constitution and said that it is the live and dynamic document that binds the people of India in the midst of diversity. Dr. Rahul Tripathi presented a report “We the people” that was prepared two years ago in order to creat awareness among te public about the Constitution of India.

3.       Secretary to the Governor welcomed the gathering and proposed the Vote of Thanks.
