Hon???ble Governor announces Sampurna Goa Yatra within one year.
First Governor to visit Surla (Thane) village says Shri Pratapsingh Rane.
On 31.12.2021, Hon???ble Governor undertook a day???s field visit to Bicholim and Sattari talukas. The Hon???ble Governor first visited Keshav Seva Sadhana, Sarvan - Bicholim and disbursed financial aid to Keshav Seva Sadhana, Sarvan - Bicholim and Keshav Seva Sadhana, Valpoi which are schools for special children and also to 7 dialysis patients. On this occasion, Hon???ble Governor commended the efforts of the management and faculty in providing quality education to the special children. He said he was very much impressed to see the talent of these special children who had performed like any other normal child. He further stated that the people are supreme in a democracy and he was happy to fulfil the duty of serving the people. The Hon???ble Speaker Shri Rajesh Patnekar and Hon???ble MLA Shri Pravin Zantye also spoke on the occasion.
Thereafter, the Hon???ble Governor proceeded to the last border village Surla (Thane) in Sattari taluka. Hon???ble Governor was warmly received by Hon???ble MLA Shri Pratapsingh Rane, Sarpanch Shri Nilesh Parwar and other Panchayat members. Hon???ble Governor then heard some of the problems of the people such as settlement of forest rights and development of the village as a tourist spot so that the youth of the village could be gainfully employed. Hon???ble Governor announced that he would be undertaking Sampurna Goa Yatra wherein he would be visiting all the villages across the length and breadth of Goa within one year. He said he had commenced the yatra from this last border village in North Goa district. Hon???ble MLA stated that it was a matter of pride for him and Surla village that the Hon???ble Governor had visited Surla. This was the first time that any Governor had come to this village. He congratulated the Hon???ble Governor for starting the Sampurna Goa Yatra from this village. Hon???ble Governor stated that he would be take up the problems of this village with the Government departments concerned. Hon???ble Governor was accompanied by the First Lady Smt. Rita Sreedharan.
Next, the Hon???ble Governor visited village Querim. He was warmly received by the Sarpanch Shri Sayyed Daud and Dy. Sarpanch Smt. Namita Govind and other member of the Village Panchayat. The Village Panchayat placed before the Hon???ble Governor certain problems of the villagers relating to water and electricity, repair of internal roads and expansion of the highway. They observed that most of the infrastructure had become outdated because of the growing population of the village. Hon???ble Governor said that he would take up the issues with the Government departments concerned. Later, Hon???ble Governor visited the Anjunem dam. He was accompanied by the Hon???ble MLA Shri Pratapsingh Rane.
