His Eminence Cardinal Oswald Gracias called on the Hon???ble Governor today morning at Raj Bhavan. His Eminence is one of the 7 Cardinals who are Special Advisors to the Holy Pope and His Eminence is also the President of the Catholic Bishops??? Conference of India (CBCI).
Speaking to the Press, His Eminence stated that he had a ???heart to heart Talk??? with the Hon???ble Governor about ???the good of the Nation and Goa and how to take the country forward???. His Eminence recalled his close association with Hon???ble Governor, Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai and said that Hon???ble Governor was instrumental in getting together three Cardinals and later for the first time three Cardinals met the Hon???ble Prime Minister at New Delhi to discuss various issues of the Christian community. In this context, Cardinal Gracias has specially commended to the media in his meeting with Hon???ble Prime Minister saying that, ???the Prime Minister was favourable, interesting and very good???. Speaking about the pandemic, His Eminence said that ???we need to put back the bad dream of the pandemic???. His Eminence prayed for normality and the progress of the country and the need to progress ahead with confidence and surety of all brothers and sisters as one family.
Hon???ble Governor said that it is for the first time in the history of Raj Bhavan that the highest personality of the Catholic Church had visited the Hon???ble Governor and recalled his warm association with His Eminence and the successful visit of the Hon???ble Prime Minister to Vatican city. He said that Hon???ble Prime Minister in his speech in Goa recently, praised the people of Goa for communal harmony and contribution to world peace.
On this occasion, His Eminence complimented the Hon???ble Governor for his humanitarian work towards helping financially the social service institutions and dialysis patients. Hon???ble Governor presented a copy of the Coffee Table Book ???30 days of Mission Humanity??? and other books authored by him. Hon???ble Governor sought the blessings of His Eminence to serve the people of Goa and for their well being.
